Here’s The Truth

We’re calling nonsense to the illusion that pastors have it all together. In between all of our picture-perfect moments and well-dressed Sundays are messy stories filled with sin, frustration, tears, fights, doubts, hurt, forgiving and forgetting, and the fight to not give up.

We’re human.  We’re normal.  We have 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week just like you.  We get tired after 8 hours just like you.  We juggle work, family, kids, date nights, money, debt, bills, friends, and responsibilities just like you.

We love people and we love being pastors, it’s a call and responsibility we don’t take lightly. We understand our responsibility is to guard, serve and protect the people that call us “pastor.”  And we love it!

And while all of that is true, we don’t exist to make you happy, to make our lives revolve around yours, or to be dictated by your feelings. We refuse to become pastors who have their marriage in shambles, kids hating church and hating people by the time it’s all said and done.

If you can’t tell yet, the only way we know to be is real. We believe we can pastor you best by telling the truth, by letting you learn from our mess instead of our best.  We have nothing to hide because this is our story, and we’re doing our best everyday to let God be the author and perfecter of it.

So enjoy our perfect pictures but learn from our true stories.  Hopefully, you’ll find hope and be inspired to take your story to new heights.
